Entrepreneurs’ Meeting with the President: A Step Toward a Brighter Future
On March 11, 2025, President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian hosted members of the Iran Entrepreneurs Forum at Shahid Beheshti Hall within the Presidential Office to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the private sector. Organized to promote closer collaboration between the government and the entrepreneurial community, the meeting highlighted the Fourteenth Government’s commitment to transferring state-owned enterprises to the private sector. President Pezeshkian emphasized that the government is not an efficient operator of private-sector businesses and reaffirmed the administration’s readiness to work alongside private stakeholders to address production imbalances and other critical economic concerns.
The President emphasized the vital role of the private sector in addressing national challenges, noting its significant potential to contribute meaningfully to the resolution of economic, social, and cultural issues. He underscored the importance of avoiding divisions and fostering national unity, describing it as a fundamental prerequisite for Iran’s sustainable development.
Dr. Pezeshkian reaffirmed that supporting the private sector and fostering an enabling environment for its growth are pivotal to addressing the country’s challenges. He emphasized that external sanctions gain traction primarily when internal constraints exist, and advocated for constructive global engagement rooted in mutual respect and shared interests, rather than coercion or threats.
Mohammad Beheshti, CEO of Beheshti Carpet, was among the attendees and addressed key concerns relevant to the sector. During the meeting, he outlined the challenges facing the private sector and presented actionable solutions aimed at improving the business climate and fostering economic growth. Beheshti remarked, “Support from authorities for entrepreneurship and production is essential for economic progress. Sustainable development and increased employment can only be achieved by creating favorable conditions and eliminating existing barriers.”
Beheshti Carpet, a leading design, manufacturing, and trading company, has played a crucial role in enhancing the global recognition of Iranian culture and art through its high-quality machine-made carpets. By championing national production, the company has made significant contributions to promoting economic activity and fostering sustainable growth, thereby supporting Iran’s broader economic development.

Beheshti Carpet’s Contribution to Economic Development as a Leading Entrepreneur and Producer
The carpet industry continues to be a cornerstone of Iran’s economy, with producers like Beheshti Carpet leading the way by blending traditional Iranian artistry with modern design and production techniques. This adaptability has enabled the company to meet the evolving demands of both domestic and international markets while maintaining cultural authenticity. Through significant job creation, Beheshti Carpet has made a substantial impact by supporting entrepreneurs and boosting employment opportunities.
A key objective for Beheshti Carpet is to provide high-quality yet affordable products to its customers. By leveraging digital platforms, the company has made purchasing carpets more accessible to consumers across the country, expanding its market reach and revitalizing the industry’s business landscape. Today, customers can easily access product information and purchase directly from the producer. This streamlined process supports domestic production, boosts customer satisfaction, and strengthens Iran’s machine-made carpet sector.
During the meeting, Mohammad Beheshti emphasized the government’s crucial role in supporting producers, advocating for reduced administrative burdens, streamlined customs processes, and enhanced export support. He identified the high cost of raw materials and export-related challenges as major obstacles for carpet manufacturers, noting that addressing these issues could significantly accelerate the industry’s growth.

The Future of the Carpet Industry: Emerging Opportunities and Growth Potential
Given Iran’s vast potential in the carpet industry—particularly in machine-made carpets—its development could drive significant foreign exchange earnings. Beheshti Carpet is pursuing sustainable growth by utilizing premium raw materials, advanced production technologies, and contemporary designs. The company plans to expand its product range to cater to diverse needs in both domestic and international markets. With a steadfast commitment to innovation and progress, Beheshti Carpet aims to collaborate with authorities and fellow producers to strengthen Iran’s economic development and further elevate the global reputation of Iranian carpets.
Following the meeting, forum members presented plaques of appreciation to the Vice President for Science, Technology, and Knowledge-Based Economy, the Deputy for Taxation and Economic Affairs, and the Head of the Trade Development Organization in recognition of their efforts and contributions toward improving the business environment for the private sector.
